Orchestra started as a partnership between Snowball Effect, New Zealand's largest private equity marketplace, and the team behind some of New Zealand’s most successful tech startups including GrabOne, Neighbourly and Finda.

In 2024 Orchestra was merged into Sharesies Group Limited, with shareholders in Orchestra receiving shares in Sharesies.
