An AVC ID or Access Virtual Circuit Identifier is a unique number for your nbn internet connection. All homes and business addresses have an AVC number. It helps Internet Service Providers and nbn keep track of services on the network.

What does an AVC ID look like?

It’s AVC followed by 12 numbers. In total, it’s a 15-character code that may look something like this: AVC123456789101.

I’m with Opticomm. Do I need an AVC ID?

AVC IDs are only provided to nbn customers. Opticomm customers have an OAC ID. For example: OAC123456789101

It is used the same way as a AVC ID.

What is a AVC ID used for and why do I need it?

AVC IDs are used by Origin Internet and nbn to avoid making mistakes when you need to transfer or activate your internet service or need technical support. When you transfer your internet to a new location, you’ll receive a new AVC ID.
