Please do a quick check to make sure you have all of these items in the box.

  • Ethernet cable (white)

  • Power adaptor

  • eero 6+ router

What you can do

Before you start

  1. Check if your service is active: we’ll send you an email or SMS to confirm. Don’t worry about setting up before then

  2. Find a spot for your router: we recommend finding a central location that’s well-ventilated and away from other electronics

  3. Download the eero app for iOS or Android and have a mobile device with reliable data connection (minimum iOS version 15.0 or minimum Android OS version 9.0).

Set up your plug and play router

  1. Download the eero app for iOS or Android
    Android users
    Apple users

  2. Create an eero account or log in with your Amazon account.

You need to create an eero account or Amazon account before you can start using your eero router. Once your account is created and you’re logged in, tap “get started” in the eero app.

Set up your eero router

  1. Unplug your old modem from the power outlet and unplug the cable connecting it to the nbn connection box

  2. Connect your eero device to your nbn connection box using the ethernet cable that came in the box. You would have received an email on which UNI-D port to use

  3. Check that your nbn connection box and your eero is on and plugged in correctly.

Set up your eero network

  1. Follow the eero app prompts and check that your gateway eero’s LED light has turned to solid blue

  2. Once your eero have been successfully detected, select a location for your eero on the app

  3. Enter your network name (SSID) and network password. This is how devices will join your network. You can create a new one through the app or you can enter the SSID and network password printed on your eero

  4. Tap "next" to complete your initial set up and then "finish setup"

  5. If you have more satellite eeros to add to your network, tap "add another eero device” and follow the steps on the app.

Bridge modem/router device with eero router

Origin Internet uses IPoE which means that you can plug your eero into your nbn connection box directly. However, we understand that you may want another set up at home which can include plugging your eero into an existing modem or router. In this instance, you’ll have to put your modem into bridging mode. If you are going to double NAT your existing router and your eero, you’ll need to use a different SSID and password for your eero network and existing network.
