If you're struggling to pay your bills, or you know an upcoming bill is going to be a problem, we've got a range of options that can help.

Financial assistance for residential customers

Here’s how we can help you pay your bill:

  • If you just need a bit more time, you can get a payment extension

  • We can tailor a payment plan to your needs – covering your current debt and your energy use over the next two years

  • For customers in ACT, NSW, NT, QLD, SA and WA, our Power On program is designed to make sure the lights stay on, even when times get tough

  • For customers in VIC, we offer payment assistance under the Victorian Payment Difficulties Framework

  • We can assist you with information on government grants to help you meet your energy costs, like utility relief grants and concession rebates

  • We can also provide practical help to lower your energy costs, including:

Financial counselling can help people struggling to pay bills and debts. Many not-for-profit community organisations offer free financial counselling. To find out how to contact a financial counsellor, ring the National Debt Helpline on 1800 007 007 or go to their website at ndh.org.au.
