Why we use Identity Authentication

Identity authentication processes, such as multi-factor authentication (MFA) will be used to authenticate your identity prior to the undertaking of a high-risk customer transaction, like changing your personal information.

What is MFA?

MFA, sometimes called “two-factor authentication” is a security process which uses an additional verification measure on top of standard personal or account identifiers to help confirm your identity.

MFA is more secure than standard authentication because it requires multiple forms of verification, making it much harder for unauthorised users to gain access.

An example of MFA is, when you use My Account or the Origin app, you’ll be prompted to sign in using your username and password, followed by a one-time password sent to your mobile number.

We can also set up a PIN whenever you call in, which a special 4-digit number you decide which adds another layer of security to your account.

Reporting fraud

If you suspect your account has been compromised, immediately report the activity by contacting us and your financial services provider.
