This fee may be charged where a customer requests a change, removal or installation of an electricity meter.

Origin’s meter works administration fee may be charged where a customer requests a change, removal or installation of an electricity meter. It is to arrange metering-related goods or services for you with a meter provider (MP) or distributor.

It's important to note: the meter works administration fee is different to the metering charge, which could also be applied to your bill.

Meter works administration fee explained

This meter works administration fee is applied to cover the administration costs that are associated with coordinating and processing a customer-initiated electricity meter request.

The fee is $25.00 (incl GST) for ACT, NSW, QLD, SA and VIC customers.

The fee may be charged when a customer requests a change, removal or installation of an electricity meter; for example, an alteration to an electricity meter due to a solar installation.

The fee doesn’t apply to customers on Origin Standing contracts.
