The Australian Government has extended the Energy Bill Relief Fund for another two quarters in the 2025-2026 budget.
This means Australian households and eligible small businesses will receive up to $150 in energy rebates from 1 July 2025. This will be automatically applied to your electricity bills in two quarterly instalments – you don't need to take any action to receive the rebates.
For most customers, during the 2025–26 financial year the:
household rebate is $150, applied in quarterly instalments of $75
small business rebate is $150 (if eligible), applied in quarterly instalments of $75
There's no need to call to get the rebate, we'll apply it to your account automatically. You’ll see it as a credit on your electricity bill, usually on page 2. Look for the description ‘Australian Government Energy Bill Relief’. See also When to expect your rebate.
There are some differences for customers in Queensland with more than one electricity account, for WINconnect customers, for Origin small business customers in Victoria and for our embedded electricity customers. (Continue to read this article for more information.)
