When you’ve had a good experience with Origin, you may want to tell a friend. We’d be grateful if you do! And to demonstrate that, we’ve got a new Refer a Friend program that means both you and your friend(s) could score bill credit.

How to refer a friend and earn bill credit
Check your friend is interested, and not already an Origin customer at the address they’re signing up.
Go to our Refer a friend area. From there you can copy the right code for your friend based on whether they want to sign up their home or business.
Send it to your friend - you can SMS, DM, email, or whatever suits.
The code will take them to where they can sign up with your details intact – so you definitely get the credit.
Stand by for incoming credit. We’ll credit your account after they pay their first bill.
Of course, exclusions and terms and conditions apply. Like, they need to sign up for an energy account (electricity and/or natural gas), the credit is not redeemable for cash and they can’t have received another credit from Origin in the previous 12 months. Lots of friends could mean lots of credit
You can share your code widely, so lots of people you know can join Origin – they can use your code to sign up their home or their business. Do see our notes below about NOT spamming people, but if several of your friends take up the offer, then we’ll happily credit your account several times over, after they pay their first bill.
Tips for referral success
We know our Refer a friend program isn’t unique and you may well have come across similar before. And the last thing we want you to do is to just send the referrals out randomly. That doesn’t usually work for either you or us.
Here are a few things that can help though:
Personalise your message: When you send the code, tell your friend what we’ve done to earn your recommendation
Share via social: You can share to your friends via your social channels but again, it’s worth saying why you’re recommending us.
Follow up: If you’ve shared your link with friends or family, follow up with them to see if they have any questions. (You can tell them our sign-up process is pretty quick and easy.)
We say no to the spamming
Here’s a big no no: don’t spam. Sending out codes to people who haven’t asked for them could be in breach of the Spam Act.
Don’t share with people you don’t know – like on third party sites and via forums that are outside your personal network. If you do do this, we may withdraw all credit payments to you. We’ve got more about this in our Terms and conditions.
