Your Origin phone (VoIP) service lets you call Triple Zero (000) to reach the police, fire rescue or ambulance in an emergency free of charge.
When you call 000, you’ll be connected to an Emergency Call Service operator, who will transfer your call to the right Emergency Service Organisation (ESO). The emergency response is provided by that ESO.
Important information
You can only make emergency calls when your internet service and power are active. As the internet may be subject to outages from time to time, please make alternative arrangements (such as keeping a mobile phone available) so you can still call emergency services during an outage.
Your VoIP service must be connected and working for the call to go through.
When you call 000, your number, name and service address (where available) may be shared with emergency services, even if number blocking is turned on.
Only use 000 for life-threatening or time-critical emergencies. Making non-genuine emergency calls to 000 is a criminal offence.
