Add concession details

Add valid concession card details to My Account for electricity and natural gas. For other account types, contact us if you need help.

Short answer

  • Electricity and natural gas: If you are the account holder with a valid concession card in your name that's issued by Centrelink, the Department of Veterans Affairs or the Department of Communities, you can add your concession details to My Account

  • NSW centralised hot water and centralised electricity: Apply through Service NSW

  • Centralised hot water and centralised electricity (excluding NSW): Contact us

  • LPG for home: Apply directly to the government department that manages the concession grant or rebate. See LPG concessions, grants and rebates for home for more info

What you can do

Electricity and natural gas

  1. Check that your concession card name and address match your Origin account name and address. You can't add someone else's concession card to your Origin account.

  2. In My Account, click the My Profile menu (top right), or in the Origin app tap Profile (bottom right)

  3. Choose Add or edit concessions

  4. Choose your concession card type

  5. Enter your concession card number

  6. Read the important information

  7. Select Agree and save my card

Important notes

  • We’ll validate your eligibility with the relevant government department, which may take a few days

  • We’ll apply the concession to your account as soon as we confirm your eligibility

  • We’ll be in touch to confirm your concession was successfully applied or if there is a problem
