Short answer

If you don’t think you can pay your energy or internet bills by the due date, there are things you can do. This article explains how to:

  • get a payment extension

  • set up a payment plan

What you can do

Get a payment extension

  • Electricity and natural gas: Self-serve your payment extension bill if your account has no overdue amounts and you have a bill that's due soon. To do this, log in to My Account or the Origin app and click the Payment extension link, then follow the prompts.

  • Internet: Contact us and we’ll talk you through some payment options.

See Get a payment extension for more info.

Set up a payment plan

For accounts with a zero/credit balance and no bill due soon. Setting up a payment plan may help to smooth your bills by anticipating your usage over a year and dividing it up into smaller, more regular payments. Contact us to set this up.

For accounts with overdue amounts. Contact us. We may be able to bundle up overdue amounts with anticipated energy costs over the next year into a payment arrangement that suits.
