My Orion is offline or will not connect to Wi-Fi
If your Orion Sleep System is showing as offline or unable to connect to Wi-Fi, this guide walks you through the most common causes and recovery steps.
The Orion Control Tower requires a Wi-Fi connection to adjust temperature and communicate with the Orion app. When it is offline, the app shows a Device Offline overlay on Home with a Troubleshoot Orion button.
What do the Control Tower light colors mean?
Solid white: online and operating normally
Gently pulsing white: water is low. This is not a connection problem. See Filling and Priming Your Orion System
Orange: powering on. If it stays orange for more than a couple of minutes, the tower is offline
Red: updating firmware. Leave it alone and do not unplug it
Blinking blue: offline and in Bluetooth pairing mode, ready to be re-paired
Purple: device error
The light stays orange: reboot the tower
In the Orion app, go to Home → Troubleshoot Orion. The first step is a power cycle:
Unplug the power cord from the back of the Control Tower
Wait 10 seconds
Plug the Control Tower back in
Wait about 30 seconds and check the light again
If the light turns solid white, the device is back online. Tap Dismiss in the app and confirm the Device Offline message disappears.
If it stays orange, continue in the app:
Troubleshoot Orion → "Didn't work? Click here"
Press and hold the reset button on the back of the Control Tower for 10 seconds, then release
The light should begin blinking blue
Tap "I have reset my Orion" in the app to begin re-pairing
The light is blinking blue: re-pair it
The tower is already waiting to be re-paired. No need to reboot or hold reset.
From Home, tap Troubleshoot Orion → "Didn't work? Click here" → "I have reset my Orion" to begin the Wi-Fi setup flow.
The light is purple: device error
Go to Home → Troubleshoot Orion. The app may prompt you to reboot the device. If the purple light does not clear after rebooting, contact Orion Support.
Which Wi-Fi networks are supported?
Orion supports standard personal Wi-Fi networks. It does not support:
WPA-Enterprise networks
Captive portal networks
Networks requiring browser-based or per-device login pages
Examples include hotel Wi-Fi, apartment networks with sign-in pages, and university or corporate enterprise networks. Attempting to connect to an unsupported network can leave the device stuck in an invalid connection state.
Recovering after an unsupported network
If Orion became stuck after trying to connect to an unsupported network:
Temporarily turn off the original Wi-Fi network, or create a mobile hotspot using the same network name (SSID) and password
Reboot the Control Tower
Press and hold the reset button on the back for 10 seconds to clear the saved network
Let the device connect to the hotspot instead of the unsupported network
You can then reconnect Orion to a supported Wi-Fi network.
Still will not reconnect?
Confirm the Wi-Fi password is correct
Confirm the Control Tower is within range of your router
Keep the tower out of enclosed spaces that reduce signal strength
If the issue continues, contact Orion Support and tell us the current light color and which steps you have tried.
