Is Orion loud at night?
No. Orion is designed specifically to run while you are sleeping, so normal operating sound is very minimal.
If you are especially sensitive to sound, Quiet Mode in the app makes it softer still.
What noise is normal?
Light fan and pump noise during operation. Filling and priming are louder, and that settles once the system is full.
Noise that keeps you awake is a problem worth fixing.
How do I make it quieter?
Turn on Quiet Mode. In the app, open Device Settings and enable Quiet Mode. It reduces fan speed by about 25%, which also slows cooling and heating slightly.
Move the Control Tower. Hard floors, walls, and corners reflect and amplify sound.
Move it off the wall while keeping three to five inches of clearance for ventilation
Put it on carpet or a rug rather than bare flooring
Make sure it sits level and stable
Check your hose. A hose pulled tight or pressed against the bed frame transmits vibration into the bed. Leave some slack.
I feel vibration through the cover
Vibration through the Smart Cover, usually at the top center where the cover connects, is not normal.
Check that the hose connection is not pressing against a headboard or frame. If it continues, contact Orion Support. This can indicate a hardware issue, and we will assess it under your warranty.
The noise changed suddenly
A sudden increase usually means air in the system or a low water level. Check your water level first. See My Orion Is Stuck In Needs Water Mode.
If you hear very loud or unusual noises, or see water outside the system, unplug the device and contact Orion Support before running it again.
Contact Orion Support and tell us where the noise comes from, whether it is constant or intermittent, whether Quiet Mode is on, and send a short audio or video clip if you can.
