How to Use the Alerts

View your alert rules, track past triggers, and manage alert activity from one place.

Written by Furkan Savrun

TL;DR

The Alerts page has two tabs: My Alerts shows all alert rules in your workspace and their current status, while History shows every time an alert has triggered. Click any row in History to open the detail panel and review the full alert context. You can disable a rule anytime without deleting it.

Understanding the Alerts page

The Alerts page is where you manage alert rules and review past alert activity. It has two tabs:

  • My Alerts — all saved alert rules in your workspace

  • History — a log of every time an alert has triggered

To create a new alert rule, click New Alert in the top-right corner.

My Alerts

The My Alerts tab shows all alert rules created in your workspace.

Each row includes:

  • Rule Name

  • Level

  • Condition

  • Alert Creation Date

  • How many times the rule has triggered

  • An enable / disable toggle

Workspace-based visibility

Alert rules are workspace-based, not user-based.

This means all users in the workspace can see the same alert rules on this page.

Enabling and disabling rules

Use the toggle on the right side of each row to turn a rule on or off.

When a rule is disabled:

  • It stops monitoring

  • It does not trigger

  • No notifications are sent

The rule itself is not deleted and can be re-enabled at any time.

Editing rules after a trigger

If an alert rule has already triggered, the rule logic can no longer be edited.

Only the notification settings can still be updated.

This helps preserve the original trigger logic for historical accuracy.

Deleting rules

If an alert rule is deleted:

  • It is removed from My Alerts

  • It will no longer monitor or trigger again

  • Past triggered alerts will still remain visible in History

History

The History tab shows a chronological log of all triggered alerts.

Each row includes:

  • Rule Name

  • Level

  • Condition

  • Alert Trigger Date

  • Actual value and the percentage change based on the rule threshold

This allows you to review exactly when an alert fired and why it met the trigger condition.

Alert detail panel

Click any row in the History tab to open the detail panel on the right side of the screen.

The panel includes:

  • Rule Name

  • Monitored metric

  • Alert condition (operator, threshold, and comparison logic)

  • Alert Details

  • Edit Alert Rule button

Coming soon:

  • Ask Orpheus: To understand Why is triggered

  • Display Trend Chart

Troubleshooting

My alert fired, but I didn’t receive a notification

Check the following:

  • The alert rule is enabled

  • The notification channel is configured in Settings → Notifications

  • The notification channel is turned on

  • For Email: check your spam or junk folder

  • For Slack or Teams: make sure the webhook is still valid

  • For WhatsApp: confirm the number is active and formatted correctly

A rule I expected to see is missing from My Alerts

If you just created the rule, try refreshing the page.

If the rule was deleted, it will no longer appear in My Alerts — but any past triggers will still remain in History.
