What are some common experiences reported by hearing aid wearers?

Discomfort. If your hearing aid feels slightly uncomfortable at first, try the following:

  • Wear it for one or two hours on the first day; add one hour each day until you are able to wear it comfortably for a full day.

  • It is recommended that you start with the medium-sized ear dome. If the fit is too loose, switch to the larger size. If it is too tight, use a smaller size.

The occlusion effect. The "plugged-up" sensation that causes a hearing aid user's voice to sound louder inside the head is very common for new hearing aid users. Most individuals get used to this effect over time.

Who do I call if I need help setting them up?

I don't have a cell phone. How will I set up the aids?

1.Provide us with a hearing test and we will help you adjust your aids for you. You can do the hearing test on our website. This would be covered under your warranty.

2. Try to find a family member or friend with a cell phone to help setup your aids. After that, the hearing aids can be changed with controls on the aids.

My hearing aids won't stop whistling!

Several things can cause that. Wrong dome size - either too big or too small; wax blockage in the ear canal, and high-frequency sound set too loud.

1. If it's too large, the dome won't go into the ear canal where it belongs and may dead-end into an ear canal wall.

2. If the dome is too small, the sound will leak out of the ear causing it to whistle.

Try various domes until you find one that goes all of the way comfortably and without whistling.

3. If you have wax blocking your ear canal, the sound will reflect backward and cause whistling.

4. The high frequency setting is too strong. Reduce the sound at 4K.

My voice sounds like I have a bucket over my head!

This is normally caused by one of two things.

You are plugged up because the dome is too large and it's not letting enough air into your ear. Try various smaller domes with holes in them.

Secondly, there is too much base in the sound. Use the app to reduce 500 Hz a little at a time and see if that helps. If the domes that came with the hearing aids are all too big, call our customer service to get smaller domes.

My hearing aid stopped working. What do I do?

The most common reason for this is wax plugging the dome or the filter. Remove the dome and run the wire end of your cleaning tool through the hole in the dome where the sound comes out. Next, use the brush to knock out any wax blocking the filter that is under the dome. Always point the part being cleaned facing toward the floor so the debris falls out.
