How do I create a campaign?

A step-by-step guide to set up and launch a campaign with Otis AI.

This guide walks you through everything you need to know to set up, launch, and manage campaigns with Otis AI.

Use it alongside our product demo video for a full step-by-step experience.

1. Create an Account

  1. Go to meetotis.com and click Sign Up or Log In.

  2. Enter your email and click Sign up with Email or sign up through Facebook.

2. Answer Basic Business Questions

  1. Then you’ll be asked basic questions to register your account. Enter your:

    • Name

    • Business name

    • Monthly ad budget (if none, input an estimate)

    • Website

    • Password

    • Phone number

  2. Agree to the terms and privacy policy

  3. Click Create Account


3. AI Questions

  1. Answer some AI Questions to help Otis better understand your business and provide tailored recommendations. It only takes 1 to 2 minutes.

    Otis uses this information to generate a personalized AI media strategy to drive your campaigns.

  2. When you’ve answered all the questions, click Complete.

    You can choose to skip these questions and answer them later on in your Otis dashboard. However, we recommend completing the questionnaire so our AI can provide better recommendations to improve your performance.

4. AI Media Plan Generation

  1. Based on the answers you provided, Otis instantly generates a robust, data-driven media strategy that maps out your entire campaign before launch.

    • It outlines your channel mix, allocates budget across platforms, segments audiences, and structures campaigns by funnel stage, all backed by platform-specific benchmarks.

    • The AI continuously updates your plan as performance data comes in, evolving your strategy in real-time to drive stronger, more efficient results.

  2. Once you’ve reviewed your media plan and are ready to start building your ads, click Create my first Campaign.

5. Set Up Your Ad Campaign

  1. Start by entering your website URL.

  2. Then add a short prompt describing the type of ads you’d like to create. This helps guide the ad generation process in the next step.

  3. Click Generate.

6. Create Your Ad

On the right-hand side, you’ll see that you have two options to create your creatives:

Option 1: Create Your Own

  • This option allows you to upload your own images or videos. This is ideal if you already have creative assets.

Click Upload Now and select your file. Be sure to follow the recommended size, format, and file guidelines.

Next, you’ll add your ad copy, including:

  • A headline (your main hook, up to 30 characters)

  • A description (why customers should choose you, up to 90 characters)

  • A unique description (what makes your product or service stand out, also up to 90 characters)

Click ‘Change’ to select the other option.

Option 2: Generate with AI

  • You can use Otis to generate your ads automatically.

Using your website and prompt from step 3, Otis creates up to five ad variations in under three minutes, complete with images and pre-written copy.

This feature is included in your subscription.

Hover over the image, and you can fully customize each variation by:

  • Replacing the media with your own assets

  • Editing the image (for example, adjusting aspect ratios for square or vertical formats)

  • Editing copy by either clicking the pencil icon or by dragging and dropping it into your desired set.

Preview your ads, and select the version you like best.

7. Configure Your Ad

  1. On the left-hand side, you’ll name your campaign.

  2. Select the platforms you want to advertise on: Facebook, Instagram, Google, and TikTok.

*Important: Make sure your Facebook page is connected and that you have admin access. This is required to run ads on Meta.

3. Select your campaign goal:

  • Sales to drive purchases (need product page link)

  • Leads to collect contact information

  • Traffic to increase website visits (need product page link)

  • Brand Awareness to boost visibility

*Note: For Sales and Traffic campaigns, be sure to include a product page link.

4. Select your audience.

You can set:

  • Age ranges

  • Gender

  • Interests

You can also select customers to target:

  • Existing customers

  • New customers

    • (based on AI-generated segments and people who are similar to your existing customers)

  • Or both

5. Then, set your campaign schedule.

  • Choose specific start and end dates, or run your campaign continuously until you manually stop it.

  • You can pause your campaign at any time from the dashboard.

6. Select your locations to advertise.

  • You can target broad regions, like the United States, or narrow it down to specific cities, such as New York City.

7. Finally, set your daily budget.

  • We generally recommend a minimum daily budget of $25. Anything below that tends to yield no results.

Keep in mind, you can always adjust, pause, or stop your campaign at any time.

8. Once you’re happy, click ‘Continue with selected.’

8. Final Preview

  1. Review the final previews for each channel selected.

  2. Click ‘Edit Campaign’ if you want to make updates to the image and copy.

    • Change your image from the other variations or click the plus (+) button to upload a new image.

    • Replace the headline and descriptions by either clicking the pencil icon or using our AI Suggestions, which provides copy recommendations with a predictive performance score (0-100) to help improve your copy.

    • Higher scores = higher likelihood of success. You can refresh the recommendations as many times as you want to boost the score.

3. If you’re happy with the final previews, click ‘Save & Continue’ to the final step.

9. Pay & Publish

  1. Choose your subscription plan:

    • Essential Plan is a self-serve option with built-in guidance, priced at $100 per month plus 12% of ad spend

    • Pro Plan includes a dedicated ad expert who helps manage and optimize your campaigns, priced at $250 per month plus 10% of ad spend

  2. Enter your payment details and click ‘Save Payment Method’ for future use.

  3. Review the budget overview, including your total weekly budget and a clear breakdown of your invoice.

  4. Once everything looks good, click Launch Campaign.

🚀 Congratulations, you’ve officially launched your campaign with Otis!

Important: Ads typically undergo a review process lasting up to 24 hours before they begin delivering. After that, your campaigns will go live, and we’ll confirm everything is running properly.


Results Expectations & Optimizations

After your campaign launches and completes the initial 24-hour review period, you’ll begin to see early results within the first few days.

However, we recommend running campaigns for several weeks to gather sufficient data to establish performance metrics accurately.

Over time, Otis continuously learns and optimizes for better month-over-month performance.

In the background, Otis is automatically:

  • Reallocating budget across top-performing channels

  • Pausing underperforming assets

  • Testing different creatives and audiences

The more you use Otis, the smarter and more effective your campaigns become.

Once your campaign is live, all performance data is available in your Otis dashboard.


Track Performance in your Dashboard

In the Otis Dashboard, you can track:

  • Ad spend

  • Impressions and clicks

  • Cost per click and click-through rates

  • Conversions and sales

  • Return on ad spend

You can also view top-performing campaigns and drill down into detailed breakdowns.

Additionally, Otis sends weekly performance reports directly to your email. If you need any customized breakdowns or KPIs, let us know, and we’ll add them to your dashboard.


View Your Live & Drafted Campaigns

Click Campaigns to view your live campaigns.

You can view the campaign details, channels it’s running on, clicks, impressions, budget, and dates it’s running.

Under Drafts, you can go back and edit any campaigns you didn’t get to finish.

Navigate & Manage Your Account In Settings

Settings is where you can manage the rest of your account.

This includes:

  • Integrations, where you can connect customer data sources or upload a CSV to improve targeting

  • Profile Settings, where you can update your business details and onboarding inputs

  • Notifications, to customize alerts and preferences

  • Billing, where you can view or change your plan, payment methods, and invoices

  • AI Campaign Recommendation History, which stores past insights

AI Insights are real-time, data-driven recommendations designed to help you improve performance even further.

They highlight optimization opportunities across your campaigns and are one of the most valuable tools for maximizing ROI with Otis.
