Ultimately when it comes to contacting people in relation to GDPR, you are responsible for the data and communication side of things. However, we do our best to make it easy for you to understand and stay compliant.

You are allowed to contact other businesses where you can show there is a legitimate interest (i.e. you provide a service that you believe they may be interested in). Part of this comes down to having intentional targeting and not just emailing everyone. You do this by specifically targeting your market within the data.

In the Outbase platform, we have a section dedicated to understanding GDPR, including tools like LIA (Legitimate Interest Assessment) Templates and a tool for responding to SAR (Subject Access Requests) that allow you to stay compliant when people ask for a copy of the data you hold on them.

You can always go to the Compliance Support Centre, via the Compliance section in the navigation menu to learn more about this.
