When setting up an ad group in Outbrain DSP, you will see your publishers and placements targeting capabilities in the Targeting section.
Publishers
Publishers are the most important attributes that determine the performance of the traffic you buy. You need to upload your publishers' list first. To learn how to do that, check out this help page.
After you’ve uploaded your publishers’ lists, you can go ahead and include and/or exclude those lists by adding the Publishers & Placements targeting option to your ad group.
1. Add a new ad group or navigate to the existing ad group settings.
2. Scroll down to the Targeting section and click on the + Add button next to the Publishers & Placements option.
3. Start including and/or excluding publishers’ lists by selecting them from the drop-down list.
You might notice some lists already added on the include and/or exclude list separated by the caption Publisher lists set on higher levels. This is part of the Default Settings feature. We show here a quick overview of publisher lists targeted from upper entity levels for better viewability.
Placements: Native Campaigns
You can decide to serve native ads into display placements as well by checking out the box at the extend reach option.
To learn more about Native to Display placement, click here.
You can select one or more placement types:
In-banner: Ads are served within the banner placements on a page.
In-article: Ads are served between paragraphs of the publisher’s content.
In-feed: Ads are served among other stories on a publisher’s page.
Floating: Ads are served similarly to those in-banner, but they stick to scrolling.
In-recommendation widget: Ads are served in the recommendation widget placements.
IMPORTANT: If you leave options un-checked, Outbrain DSP will consider targeting all placement types available.

Because display ad groups only support a single placement type (in-banner), we do not show this option in their case.
