About IAB Taxonomy
The IAB Content Taxonomy provides a “common language” that can be used when describing the content. Typical uses of the content taxonomy are contextual targeting and brand safety. This help page contains upper-level and granular categories defined by the IAB that you can find in the Outbrain DSP dashboard when applying contextual targeting.
You may notice that some sensitive categories included in the IAB categories list are not available in the list below and in the Outbrain DSP dashboard. This is a decision we intentionally made to enable the highest standards for your brand safety. You can find the list of the excluded sensitive categories at the bottom of this help page. These categories are automatically excluded from targeting when running campaigns with Outbrain DSP.
