Outbrain DSP Pixel uses several methods to track conversions. It also enables an image pixel fallback in case a browser doesn't support JavaScript execution. Outbrain DSP has added functionalities that ensure recording conversion events as efficiently as possible, keeping discrepancies at the minimum level in light of browser-level changes. The unique clickID parameter in the Outbrain DSP Pixel stores data in a first-party cookie without relying on third-party identification data.
Outbrain DSP Pixel is assigned to every Outbrain DSP account by default. Using it is universal, meaning you can use one Outbrain DSP Pixel on the account level for all top-down campaigns and ad groups. Being universal also means you only need to install the Pixel once across your websites without implementing or updating it again.
PLEASE NOTE: Your existing image pixels placed across your web pages are still fully functional and firing as conversion definitions.
Outbrain DSP Pixel JavaScript snippet code looks something like this:
You can access your Outbrain DSP Pixel JavaScript code by navigating to the Conversions section from the Main Menu and clicking the View Tag icon in the Actions column:
The JavaScript code must be implemented in the header section of every webpage you want to measure or your website's template header section. You only need to complete this action once. We suggest you do it as soon as possible, but you can always go back and find the code in the dashboard.
Before you can add the Pixel, you'll need to be able to edit your website. Either you or your web admin must be able to add the tag to your website code.
Since this is a universal pixel, there is no option to add new pixels or remove the existing ones. However, you can track and attribute events and conversions for different scopes and campaigns by defining specific conversion definitions.
