You’ve already set up your campaign, and the only thing left to do is to learn how to view performance and optimize the campaign.
This article will walk you through the dashboard's most important components, which should make your campaign analysis much easier.
1. Performance Chart
The performance chart allows you to analyze and compare data at any level. It’s located at the top left corner of the dashboard and is always enabled by default.
You can select two metrics at a time:
The performance chart supports reporting by any entity, allowing for a very granular performance analysis. It helps you understand your campaign trends based on what ad groups, media sources, and content ads perform best on certain days.
With the added Publisher Reporting in this capability, you can easily compare daily performance by publisher as well. You can select multiple publishers to be displayed in the chart.
This functionality represents another layer of clear and transparent reporting metrics that will help you make data-driven decisions about campaign optimization.
2. Date-Picker
To select the correct date range for which you want to view the data, navigate to the top right corner of the dashboard and click on the calendar icon. You can choose from a few default date ranges or make a custom selection. Keep in mind that the Last 7/30 Days do not include today’s date.
Depending on the flight range, it is recommended to filter the data through certain periods rather than looking at the campaign to date. This ensures optimization based on what is currently performing for your campaigns.
* Depending on our SSP partner, today’s date can be delayed by 2 to 6 hours. If you’d like to make sure the data you’re viewing is complete, we suggest you look at the data up to yesterday’s date.
*Outbrain DSP operates in the EST time zone.
3. Dimensions
Outbrain DSP supports many different reporting dimensions. Dimensions are located on the left side of the dashboard. Media Sources Dimension will be available by default, but you can access the rest by clicking on the arrow next to the Media Sources button:
Keep in mind that reporting by dimensions is available at all levels of the dashboard.
4. Table Columns
Columns are one of the most important components of the dashboard. They allow you to select the metrics you want to view and make performance analysis much easier. You can choose between a range of different metrics, including complete cost breakdown, engagement metrics, and conversion performance. Read more about each specific metric here.
When analyzing the data, make sure to enable all metrics that are important for your campaign’s performance so that you can better understand how your campaign is doing.
Remember that the data showcased in Columns corresponds to the level or breakdown you’re in. For example, when you’re in the Content Ad tab, Columns will show Content-related data (title, description, brand name, etc.).
