Let’s say your goal is to drive as many conversions as possible, and you spend a lot of time scrolling through the placement tab, trying to find which placements are converting the most. Creating a rule that automatically makes these checks and adjustments for you can be a big time-saver.
Follow the example below to learn how to automate this action easily for your Outbrain DSP campaign.
Example: Increase Bid Modifiers on Placements Where CPA Is Lower Than $10 and Number of Clicks Is Greater Than 50 in Last 7 Days
1. Click “Automation rules” and select Create rule.
2. Name your rule in the “Rule name” field.
3. Select on which level (Account, Campaign(s) or Ad Group(s)) this rule should execute.
4. In the Set action for your rule "Action" field, choose Ad Group / Placements - Increase placement bid modifier.
5. Define modifier percentage and limit.
Let's say you have already manually increased the bid modifier by 10%. Creating an automation rule to increase the bid modifier by 5% will add up to the manually increased bid and result in a 15% increase.
6. Select action frequency.
7. Click “+ Add condition”
8. In the first dropdown field, search for “Avg. cost per conversion” and define the conversion pixel by clicking on the three-dot icon.
9. Select the value “is less than” and insert 10 in the field next to it.
10. Click on “+ Add Condition”.
11. Search for “Clicks”.
12. Select the value “is greater than” and insert 50 in the value field.
13. Set the Time range to 7 days.
14. (Optional) Set up custom notifications when the rule performs and define who should receive the notification.
15. Define rule Scope.
16. Save your rule.
17. Navigate to the Rules library through the management console to double-check the setup, and you’re all set!
