How To Automate Email Scheduling To Check in on Performance
Updated over 2 weeks ago

Automation Rules can help you automate tedious optimization tasks, but they are also here to notify you when things don’t go as expected.

You can create a rule that will send you an email whenever one of the ad groups is outside of the required metrics as defined by your KPI. Creating such a rule will allow you to take immediate action on your campaigns, ensuring stable performance.

Follow the example below to learn how to easily automate this action on your Outbrain DSP campaign.

Example: Send an Email When the Ad Group’s Cost per Visit Is Greater Than $0.5

1. Click “Automation rules” and select Create rule.

2. Name your rule in the “Rule name” field.

3. Select on which level (Account, Campaign(s) or Ad Group(s)) this rule should execute.

4. In the Set action for your rule "Action" field, choose Ad Group - Send email

5. Define action frequency.

6. Create an email subject (you can customize the subject according to your own needs) and body. Use the macro function to distinguish the ad group name.

7. Click “+ Add Condition”

8. In the first dropdown field, search for “Avg. cost per visit,” select the value “is greater than” and insert 0.5 in the field next to it.

9. Set the Time range to the Last Day.

10. Insert the email address.

11. Define rule Scope.

12. Save your rule.

13. Navigate to the Rules library through the management console to double-check the setup, and you’re all set!
