How To Automate Ad Group's Daily Budget Increases & Decreases
Updated over a month ago

Chances are, you’re running multiple campaigns with dozens of ad groups. Checking performance for each and making sure your advertising budget is being spent where performance is great can be very time-consuming. Luckily, our Automation Rules tool is here to help out.

Follow the example below to learn how to automate this action easily on your Outbrain DSP campaign.

Example: Increase the Daily Budget of the Ad Group if Avg. Cost per Visit Is Lower Than $0.5 in the Last 3 Days

1. Click on “Automation rules” and select “Create rule”

2. Name your rule in the “Rule name” field.

3. Select on which level (Account, Campaign, or Ad Group) this rule should execute.

4. In the Set action for your rule "Action" field, choose Ad Group – “Increase ad group daily budget by amount”

5. Define bid value and limit (remember that the currency of the value matches the currency set on your account).

6. Set action frequency to “Every day”

7. Click “+ Add condition”.

8. In the first drop-down field, search for “Avg. Cost per Visit”. (you can also choose a different condition suitable for your needs)

9. Select the value “is less than” and insert “0.50” in the value field (meaning that the rule will run if the ratio of Avg. Cost per Visit is less than 0.50).

10. Set the “Time range” to “Last 3 days”

12. (Optional) Set up custom notifications when the rule performs and define who should receive the notification.

13. (Optional) Expand advanced settings and define the scope of the automation rule.

14. Save your rule.
