The Exploration Bidding Strategy is a powerful tool that allows advertisers with conversion-oriented campaigns to efficiently identify and test new high-performing inventory and automatically add well-performing supply to new and existing campaigns while maintaining full control over a dedicated testing budget.

Exploration Bidding Strategy Key Benefits

The Exploration Bidding Strategy offers several key benefits, including:

  • Streamlined Inventory Testing

  • Controlled Budget Allocation

  • Actionable Inventory Performance Data

  • Seamless Implementation of Test Results

  • Supply Diversification for Unparalleled Scale

How It Works

The Exploration Bidding Strategy systematically explores inventory beyond the supply already acquired through a specific conversion pixel, allowing your campaigns to test new traffic sources efficiently.

The algorithm takes the desired CPA target and aims to achieve 10-15 conversions for a specific publisher to ensure the supply is adequately tested. Once it reaches the desired conversion volume, the publisher is considered Explored and receives a designated status indicating its performance against the set Target CPA.

Once explored, the well-performing publishers can be automatically added to any of the existing Publisher lists, allowing you to target them in your campaigns.

Setting Up Your Exploration Campaign

The Exploration feature is available as a dedicated bidding strategy for all campaigns with CPA as their main goal.

· Step 1: When creating a new ad group, choose Exploration in the Bidding Strategy section. Once the settings have been saved, the bidding strategy cannot be changed.

· Step 2: Select your Target CPA. The algorithm will consider this value when evaluating each publisher's performance.

· Step 3 (Optional): Choose the Publisher group you’d like to automatically add to the list of successfully explored publishers.

· Step 4: Define the daily budget. It is recommended that the budget be set at least 30 times the desired CPA to allow the system to gather significant data for exploration.

Monitoring Results

Navigate to the Publisher dimension in the reporting grid and find the Exploration column to see which publishers are being actively tested and which have been explored. There are three different statuses available:

  • Explored (in green): A publisher was explored, and performance is within the desired Target CPA.

  • Explored (in red): A publisher was explored, and performance is above the desired Target CPA.

  • Exploring (in yellow): A publisher is still under active exploration.

The Exploration feature provides an easy way to explore new opportunities, allowing you to scale your campaigns and increase revenue with additional inventory according to your campaign goals.

It is included in your monthly subscription at no extra cost. To gain access, please contact your dedicated Customer Success representative.
