🦶 How do I change the default email footer?

Edit or replace the default footer to make it match your brand and style of communication.

Updated over a week ago

All email campaigns sent with Outfunnel have a footer with an unsubscribe link. You can edit or replace the default footer as you wish to make it match your brand and style of communication. Here's how you can edit the default footer.

Changing the default footer

To change the email footer, navigate to Email Settings > Footer and edit away as you please. A few things to note:

  • Any changes made to the footer only apply to new emails you create.

  • The footer has to include the {{unsubscribe_url}} merge tag that Outfunnel automatically turns into a unique unsubscribe link when you send out emails. Learn more about unsubscribes.

  • We recommend keeping the footer simple, without large logos or excessive information, for clarity and deliverability.

A few things to note

  • The default footer is only added to the email campaigns you create in Outfunnel's email editor. It is not added to custom HTML email campaigns.

  • The default footer does not support custom HTML, but you can use the < > code editor to customize your footer as you see fit. See examples below!

Email footer examples for some inspiration

Here are some of our favorite email footers that you can copy and make your own.

Why we love it: it's personal, makes you approachable, and has all the basic, necessary components of a personal outreach email footer.

(If you feel like adding some brand pizzazz to this, you can always add your logo with a link to your website under the phone number.)

Why we love it: social media profiles add credibility — which can come in handy, depending on your goals.

To implement this, simply open the code editor in the footer <> and paste in the below code. Make sure to replace the links for the social icons to your website by clicking on the icon and the link changing toolbar element.

Example 3: Show off your recent content or collateral

Why we love it: email footers are free ad space. Have a new cool content series you'd like to promote? A kick-ass eBook that you've published? Link to it!

Example 4: Show some personality (works best for marketing emails)

Why we love it: email footers are a necessity, but you can use them to build your brand with some fun wording and/or links. Here's an example, but remember—when it comes to brand-building, it only works if you make it your own!

Hey, thanks for reading this far down. I had a joke about email deliverability, but not everyone got it. If someone forwarded you this email and you don't absolutely hate it, then you can sign up for our emails here.
