Updated this week

This week is all about expansion, both within the product and globally!

We’re excited to share the latest improvements now live in Overe.

This week we have more policy controls, better signal-to-noise in alerts, stronger protection against real-world threats, Multi-language support and more!

πŸ—ƒοΈ Bulk Alert Control

You can now bulk change the status of alerts within Overe, making them far easier to manage.

πŸ” Teams Policy Controls

You now have greater visibility and control over Microsoft Teams security posture.

With Teams policy controls in Overe, you can:

  • Control Guest user access

  • Force file-type validation for files shared in Teams

  • Checking the reputation of URLs shared within Teams messages

This helps reduce collaboration-related risk without slowing users down.

πŸ“ SharePoint Policy Controls

SharePoint remains a common attack surface β€” especially with external sharing.

Our new SharePoint policy controls allow you to:

  • Force an expiry time for links shared from your Sharepoint.

  • Block legacy signin methods for Sharepoint Online

  • Restrict external users from resharing your Sharepoint content

⚠️ Important note ⚠️

To use the new Teams and SharePoint controls, Overe needs a small set of additional permissions for the Overe Premium enterprise application on each connected tenant.

In the product, we guide you through this and as noted above.

  • Team Policy controls - you'll need to grant the Overe Enterprise Application the teams administrator role - here's how to do that.

  • SharePoint Policy Controls - we need some additional Sharepoint permissions - it's as easy as hitting 'Connect again' in your tenant integration then re-consenting.

🌍 Language Selector Enabled

As we add distributors across the globe, we're making Overe available in far more languages. This is gradual expansion of the portal and will include the Reports and Scans too. We're Starting with Spanish, French, Italian and Japanese, if you'd like to see Overe in your language, feel free to request it by emailing us at hello@overe.io!

πŸ“© Direct Send Abuse Policy

Threat actors have been abusing Microsoft 365 Direct Send to send unauthenticated emails that appear to originate from internal users.

Our new policy removes this threat vector in your tenant.

🎯 Dynamic Auto-Response Severity

Not all alerts are created equal β€” and your response shouldn’t be either.

We’ve introduced dynamic severity into auto-response logic.

Combined with exclusions, you now have far more granular control of how and when Overe responds.

πŸ›‘ Improved β€œPossible Session Hijack” Alert Logic

Now with enhanced threat intelligence enrichment

We’ve significantly upgraded the detection logic behind our Possible Session Hijack alert. This alert targets modern session hijacking techniques used by frameworks like Evilginx, and other adversary-in-the-middle and token replay attacks.

What’s improved:

  • More accurate detection signals

  • Better alert severity determination based on the data we seem surrounding the event

  • Additional threat intelligence enrichment for better context

The result?
Higher confidence alerts and faster, more informed response decisions.

If you’d like a walkthrough of these updates or help enabling new controls across your tenants, just reply to this email and we’ll arrange a session.

What's coming soon?

Reporting Improvements.

While our reports are useful, you want them ran on a schedule, sent to your email, with caveats provided or certain areas hidden depending on the tenant. We hear you! We're planning a major upgrade to help you understand your tenants and show the value you're providing through Overe.

Intune/Device Policy management - Compliance Framework aligned Policies.

Managing Intune Policy is a nightmare at the best of times. We're allowing you to deploy Intune policy through Overe, built around templates for each operation system, but also with individual policies for each aspect, so you can build up a specific set that meets your compliance/security needs but without causing an outsized user impact.
