Drawing Sections

  • All sections types can be drawn by clicking New section in your Design Toolbar.

  • Simply select the section type you would like to draw (Grid, Line or Keyline) in the dropdown menu.

  • Before drawing any section, make sure the Draw button is highlighted in your toolbar.

Drawing Lines

  1. With the Draw button highlighted, drop points on the map to plot out your line.

    • Lines can be straight or irregularly shaped.

  2. Press Enter on your keyboard to finalize your line.

    • To edit your line, click Edit in the toolbar, then click and drag the line’s anchor points (highlighted in white) to your liking. You can add more points by clicking the unhighlighted points between each anchor.

  3. Under Geometry in the Design Panel, adjust the row count and between-row / in-row spacing to manually adjust your row and tree positioning.

    • Alternatively, you can auto-generate row spacing by selecting a crop template under the Crops heading.

  4. In the Design Toolbar, use:

    • the Flip tool to rotate the section 180 degrees along the initial line axis

    • the Delete button to delete your section

    • or and to undo/redo an action.

💠 Drawing Grids

  1. With Draw highlighted, drop pins on your map to create a polygon, which will form the perimeter of your grid.

  2. Press Enter on your keyboard to close your polygon.

    • The field will auto-populate with rows and in-row points, which represent trees.

  3. To edit your grid, use the following tools in your Design Toolbar:

    • Rotate your rows

      • Select Rotate and hold down on the map as you move your cursor in a circular motion. Your row orientation will rotate accordingly.

    • Offset your rows (i.e. move them up, down, left, and right within the grid)

      • Select Offset then move your arrow keys in the direction you would like to move your rows.

    • Edit

      • Select Edit, then Click and drag your grid perimeter’s anchor points across the map.

    • or will undo and redo actions

    • Delete will erase your grid permanently.

  4. In the Design Panel, further adjust your grid’s specifications:

    • Under Geometry, manually adjust your in-row and between-row spacing.

    • Alternatively, selecting a crop template under the Crops heading will automatically assign default spacing to your grid.

🏔️ Drawing Keylines (beta)

  1. With Draw plus the polygon icon highlighted in the toolbar, drop pins on your map to create a polygon. This will form the perimeter of your keyline section.

  2. Press Enter on your keyboard to close your polygon.

  3. Next, with Draw plus the line icon highlighted in the toolbar, draw your keyline by clicking the map to drop pins within the polygon.

    • Your keyline can be irregularly shaped to follow the contour of your map.

  4. Press Enter to finalize your keyline.

    • Note: As the tool is still in Beta, you may need to soften your line to prevent your keylines from doubling back on themselves.

  5. In your toolbar, the following can help you perfect your keylines:

    • Edit

      • Select Edit, plus either the line or polygon button, then click and drag either your polygon or keyline’s anchor points across the map.

    • Delete will erase your section permanently.

  6. In the Design Panel, further adjust your keyline’s specifications:

    • Under Geometry, manually adjust your in-row and between-row spacing.

Design & Inspect Panels

The righthand panel features two toggles— Design and Inspect:

🎨 The Design Panel enables you to manually change your section specifications, including:

  • Geometry:

    • in-row and between row spacing

    • degree rotation

    • number of lines

  • Crops:

    • You can assign a primary crop template to the entire section via the dropdown menu, automatically assigning default in-row and between-row spacing to the entire section.

  • Economics:

    • Selecting a start year enables you to stagger your plantings (and thus your economic projections).

🕵️‍♀️ The Inspect Panel provides you with data about your section, including acreage, row ft, plant quantities, and row count data for the entire section, as well as a crop-by-crop breakdown of the aforementioned data.

Renaming Sections

To change the name of a section, double click the field in the Fields Panel. Then, fill in the appropriate name and press Enter.
