Overview

Your Property Manager makes use of Checkbook.io when sending payments. If you're an owner, you'll receive an email with your payment/owner distribution attached, but what do you do with it? It's actually a very simple process and will ensure that you receive your money quickly and painlessly.

The Steps

  1. In your inbox, you'll receive an email with the subject line similar to this: "you received a digital payment". Click on that email.

  2. Upon opening it, you'll see something similar to the image below. You'll see who the payment came from, the amount it is for, and a link to View Deposit Options. Click View Deposit Details.

  3. This is a generic version of the email that is sent. Basically, you'll have two options here.

    • You can Deposit the payment directly to your account via ACH Direct Deposit. By clicking this, you'll be asked to enter your account information to receive the funds. You can also choose to create a Checkbook.io account so that it'll save your information and you won't need to enter your account information each time after.

    • The second option is to Print the check and make a deposit manually at your bank.

  4. That's it. The quickest method of receiving your funds is Direct Deposit (ACH). We recommend this method for its ease and speed. Note that payment can take up to 4 days to deposit into your account.

If you need to view the status of a payment, you can log into your checkbook.io account. Use this link and click "Forgot password" to set a password to the account that was automatically created for you with the email that they received the check on. Once you're able to log in, you should see the payment on the dashboard and the status of that payment.

Things to Consider

  • If you choose the 'Deposit Payment Online' option, you will need to verify your bank account details. Doing so will also save the info, and all future Digital Payments sent will be automatically deposited to that account (unless they cancel auto-deposit).

  • Auto-deposit can be cancelled by simply deleting any bank account on your Checkbook account. (NOTE: ONLY delete a bank account when there are no 'In-Process' checks paying to this account.)
