What shoppers see when their cart is empty — and how to convert them anyway.

The empty-cart state is your last chance to recover a shopper before they leave. Don't waste it.

Go to Cart Editor > Cart Empty option

Title

"Your cart is empty" or similar. Keep it short — one line.

Message

One sentence explaining the next step. Friendly, not apologetic.

Link to a collection — Bestsellers, New Arrivals, or a curated set. Avoid linking to:

  • The homepage (too generic — kills momentum)

  • The cart page (a dead loop)

Recommendations

Show 2–4 products directly in the empty state. Source options:

  • Manual picks — Hand-pick proven sellers for the highest conversion.
