PACKTRACK provides great statistical information based on custom entry fields. To do this each handler must enter the same information in the custom entry field. If handlers enter information that does not match everyone else, it can impact the charts and graphs in the reports section. We have created a way to edit this information to align all of the entries to the groups agreed upon data terms.
The custom entry fields are Odor types, Event Tags, Packaging types, Requesting unit or agency, Weather conditions.
Each handler can log in on the computer and click on the link "Manage Custom Entries" located in the left side navigational bar. It will look like the image below.
They can find the Custom Entry list using the filter at the top of the page or they can leave the filter set at "All Entry Types" and scroll down the list. Once they find an entry that is not what is wanted, they click on the box of the entry they wish to change.
They can edit the entry to what was agreed to by the group and click save. This will cause the system to go back through the records and change any record that was entered as it was originally, to what you changed it to. You can go through each entry that needs to be changed.
Our advice, have the group agree to how the data will be entered. Change the past records as described above, moving forward have each handler click on the correct entry from the drop down. If a mistake is made, they know how to fix it.
