Overview

If you're seeing a banner in Shopify warning you that Booster Page Speed is not supported and may not work as expected, read this article for the full context.

Why is this banner appearing?

Shopify is updating to a new Asset API version 2023-04 this year. An original deadline of January 2nd, 2024, was extended to March 31st, 2024, for apps using the older API version to migrate to the new one. Shopify allows apps to use this older API version but nevertheless considers it technically unsupported during this extension period, which is why these banners are triggered. Apps using the older version are completely unaffected and still function as expected. Shopify has confirmed with us that this is the case.

Is the app affected in any way?

No, this API update does not affect the functionality of Booster Page Speed in any way. This is a generic message Shopify displays, and the app will continue to work as expected.

Do I need to do anything?

No action is needed on your part. You can continue to use the app as normal and will not notice any difference in performance or functionality. Our team is working behind the scenes to update our app to use Asset API version 2023-04 well before the March 31st deadline.
