If you want to make some spots on your map more important than other spots on your map, then you can mark them as "landmarks". When you set a spot as a landmark, it will always appear in a large state, and it will always have more prominence over other spots.
This is helpful when:
You have a trip map and you want to make your hotel always stand out
You want to mark certain spots in a city as important or to help with orientation (ie. Eiffel Tower)
You have a map of businesses and you want to highlight a business as a sponsor
How to set a spot as a landmark
To set a spot as a landmark, click into the spot, and then click the Landmark icon (it looks like the Eiffel Tower).
If you're importing places. Add a column called "Landmark" and then add "landmark" to every spot/row that you want to mark as a landmark. Then link that column to the "Landmark" field in the import settings. See a spreadsheet example.
Best practices for using landmarks:
We recommend to use landmarks sparingly.Less than 30% of your map should be "landmarks". Sometimes you may only have 2-3 landmarks.
Don't add landmarks that are close to one another
