How to add a landmark to your map?

Add landmarks to your map to make certain spots stand out more than other spots.

If you want to make some spots on your map more important than other spots on your map, then you can mark them as "landmarks". When you set a spot as a landmark, it will always appear in a large state, and it will always have more prominence over other spots.

This is helpful when:

  • You have a trip map and you want to make your hotel always stand out

  • You want to mark certain spots in a city as important or to help with orientation (ie. Eiffel Tower)

  • You have a map of businesses and you want to highlight a business as a sponsor

How to set a spot as a landmark

  • To set a spot as a landmark, click into the spot, and then click the Landmark icon (it looks like the Eiffel Tower).

  • If you're importing places. Add a column called "Landmark" and then add "landmark" to every spot/row that you want to mark as a landmark. Then link that column to the "Landmark" field in the import settings. See a spreadsheet example.

Best practices for using landmarks:

  • We recommend to use landmarks sparingly.Less than 30% of your map should be "landmarks". Sometimes you may only have 2-3 landmarks.

  • Don't add landmarks that are close to one another
