panOpen Education offers several tools to keep track of your reading within your online course. As you're going through your digital course materials, you have the option to highlight any of the reading.

To do so, simply highlight the sentence or paragraph with your cursor, which will pop up an option above the text that has several colors to select for your highlighted materials.

You can also annotate any paragraph by leaving a note. Simply hover your cursor over any paragraph and a small gray chat symbol will appear to the right. Click on this and a textbox will appear to type in your annotation for that particular paragraph.

Notes can be private or shared with the class, and referenced for review at any point.

If you share a note with your class, your professor and classmates will have the ability to reply to your note.

To review the notes and highlights you've made, click the pencil icon in the top right corner of your screen.

This will take you to a window that displays all of the notes and highlights together, sorted by the latest ones you've taken.

At the top of that screen, you can also click on either Notes to see just your notes, or Highlights to see just your highlights.

These can also be sorted by any section of the text by clicking on the section title from the Table of Contents to review your annotations specific to that part of the reading.

If you click View on any highlights or notes, you will be redirected to the portion of the book where you annotated that text.

You are also able to remove any notes by clicking Delete, and edit any notes by clicking Edit.
