This article will walk you through how to take interactive assessments within your course reader.

In your panOpen online course, assessments are built into each chapter and section throughout the reading. As you scroll and read through the materials, you will be able to take any assessment without navigating to a new screen. Once you come across any quiz within the reading you can click the Start button to begin that attempt.

In addition you can always navigate directly to any quiz from the Table of Contents. To open up the table of contents click the three white horizontal lines in the top left corner of the screen.

Select a chapter and click the plus symbol to expand the chapter.

This will expand the chapter into its various sections with the corresponding assessments. Assessments are identified in the table of contents with two symbols: a purple clipboard for the Check your Understanding Quizzes built into each section, and a purple checkbox for end of chapter assessments.

To jump to the assessment from the Table of Contents hover over the quiz title with your cursor and click the "take" button to the left of the quiz. This will redirect you to the location of the quiz in the course reader and that you can click Start to begin your attempt.

In the Table of Contents to the right of the quiz title it will display your attempt count and the maximum number of attempts. It will also display any due date information for a particular assessment.

At the bottom of the quiz window the number of questions will display and you can toggle back and forth between the questions by clicking the Next Question button to the right or the Previous Question button to the left.

Once you are finished with your quiz click finish to finalize that attempt. If you refresh or close your browser at any point after the attempt has started, you will lose that attempt and register an incomplete. Make sure to click Submit at the end of each attempt.
