Overview
Authors can use the Match all possible responses option to specify more than one valid response for a given response option. This can be helpful when creating questions where:
You need to accommodate multiple versions of the same language e.g. US English and UK English
When the possible response has a response with multiple known variations, e.g. Pythagorean theorem/Pythagoras' theorem
When the possible response can have more than one spelling E.G Theatre/Theater.
The Match all possible responses option is available in the following question types:
Cloze with drag & drop
Cloze with drop down
Cloze with text
Label image with drop down
Label image with text
Instead of creating multiple combinations of possible responses while setting the correct responses, Authors can simply add in the different versions of the response options in the alternative correct answers for that response position and choose the Match all possible responses option.
Example
For the question below, the first response option can contain stairs, stairway or staircase, and the second response option can contain a lift or an elevator.
Authors can set stairs and a lift as the correct answers and also set stairway and staircase for the first response and an elevator for the second response as alternative answers.
Selecting the Match all possible responses option will cause the scoring to allow stairs, stairway or staircase for the first response option, and a lift or an elevator for the second response option.
The following combination of responses would be all considered correct.
John was worried he could not take the stairs to his friend's apartment due to his sprained ankle. He waited for his friend at the lobby and was relieved when his friend told him the building has a lift which they could use.
John was worried he could not take the staircase to his friend's apartment due to his sprained ankle. He waited for his friend at the lobby and was relieved when his friend told him the building has a lift which they could use.
John was worried he could not take the stairway to his friend's apartment due to his sprained ankle. He waited for his friend at the lobby and was relieved when his friend told him the building has a lift which they could use.
John was worried he could not take the stairs to his friend's apartment due to his sprained ankle. He waited for his friend at the lobby and was relieved when his friend told him the building has an elevator which they could use.
John was worried he could not take the staircase to his friend's apartment due to his sprained ankle. He waited for his friend at the lobby and was relieved when his friend told him the building has an elevator which they could use.

Note: Choosing the Match all possible responses option would disable the Point(s) option for alternative answers and any combination of correct response would get scored based on points set for the correct answer option.
