You just downloaded PAR Golf and you're ready to play your best golf, but before you take your first swing... PAR Golf knows nothing about you. What clubs are in your bag, how far you think you hit them, nothing... We talking persimmons or the latest and greatest bazooka.

Inputting your clubs into PAR Golf will improve caddie functionality right out of the box and will also allow you to properly track club information for advanced stats as you play. Let's set it up.

From the home screen, hit the 'Clubs' button to dive in.

You should see the default set of clubs on the clubs screen. Clubs are divided by types into broad categories:

  • Drivers

  • Woods

  • Hybrids

  • Irons

  • Wedges

  • Putters

Sorry chippers... we're calling you a wedge.

From here, you can add, modify, inactivate, or delete clubs. Active clubs are shown in green. Inactive clubs are shown in Gray and will not show up for selection when playing golf.

If you find a club in the default that is not in your bag, simply tap it to modify it.

This brings up the above menu where you can modify club information including:

  • Status: Inactive / Active: Active clubs will be selectable while playing golf. Inactive clubs are saved and put on the shelf for a rainy day. Use it to archive old clubs or to bounce back and forth between your trusty putter and the one that caught your eye at that garage sale.

  • Club: Use this to set the club type. If you don't have a 3Hy... no problem, change it to a 4W or whatever you need.

  • Brand: Tell us the brand of your club if you want to use that to compare your Titleist to a Taylormade.

  • Model: put whatever you need into this field to identify your club.

  • Apply brand and model to all active <club type>. This lets you quickly assign the brand and model to all <irons> for example instead of typing 'T200 Stiff' 10 times...

  • Distance: This is the distance you think you hit this club. Eventually when PAR Golf collects enough data, you can override this with Smart Distances. In the meantime, tell us what distance you want PAR Golf to use for a 7 Iron.

Thats it. Save it.

If you no longer want this club at all or have too many clubs... Delete the club.

Thats it. Your bag is set. Let's play golf.
