Particle community guidelines and rules

Usernames, Full Names, and Avatars

Offensive or inappropriate usernames, full names, and avatars are prohibited. Particle prohibits users from impersonating individuals, organizations, or other entities with the intent to mislead or deceive. Violations may result in Particle adjusting the username, full name, or avatar, and/or suspending the account. Particle retains sole discretion in determining whether a profile is offensive, inappropriate, or intended to impersonate.

Questions Guidelines

The Questions feature allows users to ask questions to the Particle AI about news stories, to get additional context or information about a story.

Questions and their answers are public. You can delete your own questions at any time by tapping on the 3 dots next to your question, and then "Delete", or by contacting us.

Follow these guidelines when using the Questions feature:

  1. Engage respectfully (even with AI!) Be polite and constructive in your questions.

  2. Stay on topic. While Particle will respond to a range of topics, it’s best to keep questions relevant to the story. Also, the AI doesn’t know what Particle is, so if you have questions about Particle, contact us instead!

  3. No harassment or bullying. This includes offensive speech directed at other users, individuals or entities in the story, Particle’s AI, or anyone else.

  4. No spam, phishing, or promotion. Avoid posting irrelevant content, promotions, or unsolicited content. Repeatedly posting the same content in an effort to spam is prohibited.

  5. Do not impersonate others. Misrepresentation or pretending to be someone else is prohibited.

  6. No explicit or inappropriate content.

  7. No incitement or glorification of violence or self harm. Do not post content that promotes violence, death, or harmful behavior.

  8. No illegal content.

  9. Do not promote gambling.

  10. Do not attempt to bypass or manipulate the AI’s safeguards. Any attempt to "jailbreak" the AI, exploit vulnerabilities, or generate responses that go against its ethical or safety boundaries is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, prompting the AI to generate responses that violate the above guidelines.

Particle retains sole discretion to remove or modify content and/or suspend accounts for violations of these guidelines.
