PrimeXBT MCP: explainer for partners

This page explains what PrimeXBT MCP is, how it helps you and your clients, and how to promote it.

What is PrimeXBT MCP?

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is an open standard that connects AI assistants to outside services, a bit like a plug between the assistant and a trading account. You do not need to know how it works. What matters is what it lets your clients do.

PrimeXBT MCP lets your clients connect their PrimeXBT trading account to an AI assistant they already use, such as ChatGPT or Claude. They type a question in plain words, for example "How is my account?", and the assistant answers using their real account data. If they want to place a trade, the assistant prepares it and the client confirms it.

The AI assistant your client uses (ChatGPT, Claude or any other) is a separate product made by another company. It is not affiliated with PrimeXBT in any way.

MCP is available worldwide on PXTrader 2.0, for crypto perpetual futures and CFDs, on both demo and live accounts. For the full client guide, read PrimeXBT MCP: what it is and how to connect.

Why MCP is good for you

MCP gives you a real product feature to talk about, and it helps your referred clients stay active. Here is how it helps you:

Benefit

Why it helps you

A topic your audience already follows

AI trading is one of the most talked-about themes in trading right now, and many brokers still do not let clients connect an account to an AI assistant. PrimeXBT does, so you can promote a real feature, not only a trend.

Keeps your clients active

Your clients can check their account, costs and open orders in the AI app they already use every day. Quick check-ins become a habit, which helps keep your clients engaged with PrimeXBT over time.

Helps you bring in new traders

New traders in your audience often get lost in platform terms and rules. With MCP, their AI assistant explains leverage limits, funding and swaps in plain words, and they can try it on a demo account first. Fewer of the traders you bring in give up before their first trade.

Easy to learn, easy to teach

Connecting takes one link and a PrimeXBT login, with no API keys, config files or installs. You can learn it in minutes, and your audience can repeat it without technical help.

Your own AI setups

If you are an advanced AI user, you can build prompts or custom assistants on top of PrimeXBT MCP and share them with your audience. See "Ideas for sharing it" below.

MCP does not change your partner terms. Your revenue share, your payouts and your conditions stay as they are.

Who is it for

MCP is useful for different kinds of traders in your audience:

  • New to trading. They can ask in everyday words, learn terms, costs and how orders work.

  • Trading at several brokers. They can learn PrimeXBT rules, compare trading conditions and connect the AI assistant they prefer.

  • Active and experienced traders. They skip the routine of clicking through screens. Positions, margin, costs and history are one question away, and they keep the final call on every trade.

Not for scalpers. MCP is not built for scalping (very fast, very frequent trades). Every trade goes through a chat and a confirmation, and prices do not stream live. Scalpers can still use MCP around their trading, for example to check fees and funding, review executed trades or clean up orders after a session. MCP is also not for automated trading that runs on its own. For that, PrimeXBT offers the PrimeXBT Trading API.

What your clients can do

PrimeXBT MCP gives the assistant 30 tools. You can see all of them in PrimeXBT MCP: available tools. They cover four everyday jobs:

What clients can do

Example question

What the assistant does

See their account

"How is my account?"

Shows balance, profit or loss, available margin, open positions and orders. Each open position comes with its stop-loss, take-profit and liquidation price.

Explore markets

"What are today's top movers?"

Lists the markets that moved most in the last 24 hours, shows live prices with the client's real spreads and draws charts from 1 minute to 1 month.

Get clear answers

"Why was my order rejected?"

Explains the reason in plain words and says what to change. It also answers questions about fees, swaps, funding, leverage limits and account rules, based on PrimeXBT and the client's own account.

Trade with confidence

"Buy 0.25 BTC at market, TP 84,000, SL 78,000"

Prepares an order card with the price, margin, fee, leverage and liquidation price. Nothing is sent until the client confirms. TP is take-profit and SL is stop-loss.

More questions to try:

  • "Show my balance, my profit or loss since yesterday, and anything close to liquidation."

  • "Which is cheaper to hold for a week, BTC/USDT or BTC/USD?"

  • "Show me a weekly chart of gold."

Tip for beginners: start on a demo account to try the assistant without risking real money. To see how a trade works step by step, read PrimeXBT MCP: trading with your AI assistant.

How to connect

You and your clients connect in the same way. It takes a few minutes.

  1. In PXTrader 2.0, click Connect AI.

  2. In the window that opens, click Connect AI again and pick your assistant: ChatGPT, Codex, Claude or Claude Code.

  3. In your assistant, add PrimeXBT as a custom connector. On Claude, paste this address: https://api.primexbt.com/v2/mcp. On other platforms, follow the instructions on the screen.

  4. Sign in to PrimeXBT and choose your account (demo or live). Then choose the access level: Read only (the assistant can only look) or Read and trade (it can look and prepare trades). Click Allow access.

  5. Start chatting, for example: "Show my PrimeXBT account balance and open positions."

ChatGPT needs Developer mode, which is included in the Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise and Education plans. Whether other assistants need a paid plan is up to each AI provider.

How clients stay in control

MCP does not hand control to the AI. The assistant looks things up, shows the details and waits for the client.

  • See before you trade. Before an order goes out, the client checks all the numbers on an order card. The numbers come from the PrimeXBT trading engine, not from the AI.

  • One approval, one order. Each confirmation works once, so a repeated request or a double click cannot open a second trade. The card is valid for about a minute, then the client can ask for fresh prices.

  • Funds stay in the PrimeXBT account. Deposits, withdrawals and transfers cannot be made through MCP.

  • One account per connection. The client picks demo or live at login, and the assistant cannot switch accounts. To use another account, the client connects again.

  • Easy to switch off. The client can revoke access at any time.

  • Private chats. PrimeXBT does not see the chat between the client and the assistant, only the actions the assistant asks for.

Good to know

  • Access expires after 30 days, and the client reconnects to keep using MCP.

  • Some assistants have their own safeguards, so they may refuse to place a trade or ask for extra confirmation. The client can always trade in the PrimeXBT terminal instead.

Ideas for sharing it

Here are simple ways to bring MCP to your audience:

  • Show how easy it is. Record a short screen video: paste one link, log in to PrimeXBT and ask a first question.

  • Teach the basics. Show how a client can ask "Why was my order rejected?" or "What does holding gold overnight cost?" to understand platform rules without searching through help articles.

  • Share a routine. A morning check-in, a weekly review of trades or a quick scan of the biggest movers. Clients can save the questions they ask most and reuse them.

  • Build your own setup (for advanced AI users). Create a prompt pack, a skill or a custom assistant on top of PrimeXBT MCP, such as an onboarding guide for new traders, a weekly account review or a pre-trade checklist with your own risk rules. Then share it with your audience.

Keep it honest

Trading with leverage carries a high risk of losing money. Please keep these points in mind when you talk about MCP:

  • Do not promise profit or results. MCP helps clients see and understand their account. It does not guarantee any trading result.

  • Do not call it autotrading. The assistant never trades on its own. It prepares an order, and the client confirms it.

  • The AI assistant is not part of PrimeXBT. ChatGPT, Claude and other assistants are products of other companies and are not affiliated with PrimeXBT in any way. Their own privacy settings and terms apply to the chat.

  • AI can make mistakes. Clients should always check the numbers on the order card before they confirm a trade.

  • It is not investment advice. Nothing the assistant says is investment advice.
