Understanding Elements: Mood & Content

Learn how to customize your event with visuals and details

Partytrick templates are built from two types of elements—Mood Elements and Content Elements—that work together to shape your event.

Mood elements define your event’s look and feel, while content elements provide the actionable details to bring that vision to life.


Mood Elements

Mood elements are the visual building blocks of your event—the curated design board that sets the tone through imagery, colors, and inspiration.

You’ll find them at the top of your event page under “Design.”

Here, you can:

  • Browse curated images related to your event theme

  • Search by mood, vibe, or occasion

  • Select your favorite images to create your custom inspiration board

Each selected image appears under Saved, creating a cohesive visual direction that informs your event’s décor, menu, and overall style.

When you’re happy with your selections, click Save Plan to lock them in.

Example: For an Apple Picking Party, you might choose images like “Apple Crates,” “Caramel Apples,” and “Rustic Cheese Board” to capture the fall harvest feel.


Content Elements

Content elements are the actionable parts of your event plan—everything that turns inspiration into reality. They’re organized by chapters inside the Plan tab:

  • Set the Scene: Décor, lighting, tableware, and ambiance

  • Feed the Crowd: Food, drinks, and recipes

  • Create Connections: Games, playlists, and activities

  • Make It Personal: Invitations, swag, and favors

  • Keep It Running: Logistics, cleanup, and operations

  • Dress the Part: Outfit ideas and styling for guests and hosts

Each card represents an element, such as a product, recipe, or idea.

Click Edit in any section to browse suggested items, search by vibe or occasion, or select your own favorites.

All your saved elements display neatly within each chapter, so you can view and manage them at a glance.

Tip: Use content elements as a checklist for what to gather or order—each one links directly to helpful resources or products.


Adding & Removing Elements

You can add or remove mood and content elements anytime to personalize your plan.

To Add:

  • Click the “+” icon or Edit in any section

  • Browse or search for items you’d like to include (products, recipes, mood images, etc.)

  • Click to select, then Save Plan

To Remove:

  • Click Edit or the menu icon (⋯) next to any element

  • Deselect or choose Remove

  • Your updates will automatically reflect in your saved list once you click Save Plan


How Elements Work Together

Mood elements inspire your vision, while content elements make it actionable.

Together, they keep your event both beautiful and organized—helping you capture the vibe you want while staying on top of every detail.

Whether you’re planning a cozy backyard dinner or a polished celebration, customizing these elements lets you:

  • Reflect your personal or brand style

  • Stay organized with curated recommendations

  • Keep all visual and logistical details in one place
