To access an analysis of a specific Place, you'll first need to use the Place Search to find and select it. This article gives a short walkthrough, offering hints and tips along the way.

What this article covers

  • Selecting a Recently Viewed Place

  • Searching by location

  • Filtering Place results

Selecting a Recently Viewed Place

If you've already visited an analysis page and want to jump back in, you can use the Recently Viewed list in the side panel. When you first load the Place search, the five most recently visited Places will appear.

Searching by location

If you're looking to find a new Place, you'll need to select the location first. There's two ways of doing this:

  1. Using the search box. You can search for a city, a specific store, or an area such as Time Square.

  2. Dropping a pin. Alternatively, you can use the map to navigate to the area you're interested in and click Drop a Pin to load nearby Places.

Either way, the search will load all nearby Places around the location that you've selected. By default, a 1 mile radius is added around the center, but you can edit this by clicking Edit Radius next to the search box:

Filtering Place results

Once you've selected a location, Nearby Places will load in the side panel and on the map. At this point you can use either section to find the Place you wish to analyze.

If you want to find the Place quicker, you can filter the results by:

  • Name. Use the search box in the side panel to search for the name of the Place you're looking to analyze.

  • Category. Use the filter icon in the side panel to filter by Place type, e.g. Quick Serve, Specialty Retail, Gas Stations.

  • Shopping Center. If there's a shopping center in your search radius, you can use the search box in the side panel to display all Places within that center.

πŸ’‘Tip: You can also use the Sort By button to order results by Name, Distance (from the location you've selected), Monthly visits and Percentile rank.

These filtering options should enable you to find your Place quicker. Once you've found it, simply click the Place in the side panel or on the map to reveal the Analyze Place button. Clicking this will take you straight to the Place analysis page.

πŸ›  Troubleshoot: I can't find a Place that I know is in the area!

If you're struggling to find a Place, try selecting the Show recently closed toggle. This will display any Place that has closed in the last 6 months, enabling you to access historical analysis on it. Note that any Place that closed more than 6 months ago can not be accessed.
