In some new analytics, the date ranges can be edited with the SELECTED PERIOD and COMPARISON PERIOD drop-downs. This page outlines how you can use it.
There are three ways to select the date range of the selected period:
You can select a preset option
You can select the start date and end date on the calendar
You can enter the dates as numbers
Preset input selection
On the left side, a list of preset options are available. This lets you select from historical and future date ranges easily.
Comparison Period options
The preset options for the Comparison Period are linked to the Selected Period. Here you can select from:
Previous period - This selects the same amount of dates, matching the days of the week. So if the selected period was Tuesday - Thursday, this option would select Tuesday - Thursday the week before.
Same period last year - This uses the 4-5-4 retail calendar to match the selected period to the same dates in the previous year.
Preceding period - This selects the same amount of dates, ending immediately before the selected period begins. So if the selected period was Tuesday - Thursday, this option would select Saturday - Monday.
Same dates last year - This selects the same dates in the preceding year(s).
Calendar selection
Click the dates directly on the calendar to edit the selected period. The first date you select will be the start date - the second date you select will the end date. The calendar always shows two consecutive months, and you can use the arrows to switch between the pages.
Numerical selection
At the top of the modal, the dates are represented in numerical format. You can edit these inputs to change the date range.
