Before your sponsorship campaign can be delivered to subscribers, you'll need to add the Paved Open Pixel to the code of your email.
This pixel tracks the number of times your email campaign is opened so we can share accurate performance stats with your sponsors. Without it, we can't tell if your email campaign was sent and your payout may be delayed.
What is Paved's open pixel?
The pixel is a snippet of HTML code that appears as a transparent 1x1 pixel. It is invisible and won't affect your newsletter design at all.
We use the open pixel to track the total number of opens for your campaign so you don’t have to manually track and share your stats with us. The pixel tracks the total number of opens (not just unique opens).
Paved collects a few data points from the open pixel:
The browser & operating system
Country
Time of day
Campaign ID
We don't collect any PII such as subscriber name or email address. We can't see who opened or engaged with the newsletter content.
Find your open pixel
Paved creates a unique pixel for each campaign. It's important that you use the right pixel or your reporting will not be correct.
Navigate to the Campaigns section of your Paved publisher account.
Select the sponsorship campaign you’re intending to send as a draft.
Go to the Creative step and click Manage.
Here, you can copy the Open pixel.
Pixel Installation Tips
Don’t add the open pixel or sponsorship links to a template. The open pixel will change for each and every campaign you send, even if it is with the same advertiser.
Don’t copy information from an old campaign. Paved tracks your open rate and CTR using the link and open pixel. If you use info from old campaigns, your data won’t reflect properly and the advertiser will not have proof that this campaign was sent.
Some ESPs do not allow users to use tracking pixels. In these instances, please let us know ahead of time and we'll ask you to submit additional reporting to adops@paved.com
Where to Implement the Open Pixel in Your Email
Copy the ‘Open Pixel’ snippet from your campaign, and paste it anywhere within the <body> section of your email.
The pixel will look something like this:
<img src='https://www.vpdae.com/open/00000.gif?opens=1' width='1' height='1'>
If you don’t know how to access the body code of your email editor, check out our ESP-specific Ad Network tutorials for more detail: ESP Guides for Ad Network HTML Placement
