As our dogs age, their nutritional needs change

It is important to adapt their diet to best support this crucial phase of their life. Our dog food recipes are designed to meet these needs during their golden years.

Developed based on advanced canine nutrition research and in consultation with veterinarians specializing in the care of older animals, we are committed to offering food that not only meets your pet's needs but anticipates them, for an improved quality of life.

Our recipes and senior dogs

Our recipes are formulated to support joint health, cognitive function, and the maintenance of optimal muscle mass. Our recipes include high-quality ingredients that are easily digestible and beneficial for senior dogs.

Although our recipes already contain omega fatty acids, which are essential for cognitive health and reducing joint inflammation, we recommend an additional intake of omega-3 for our senior friends. This recommendation is intended to enhance the benefits of omega-3 well beyond the levels normally present in their daily Pawy meals.

Recommended omega-3 supplementation dosage for senior dogs

To maximize benefits, we recommend supplementing with an omega-3 EPA:DHA ratio of 3:1. Here is the recommended dosage to ensure optimal intake, which should be added separately to your dog's diet:

  • Seniors from 1 to 5 kg: 500 mg/day

  • Seniors from 5 to 10 kg: 1,000 mg/day

  • Seniors from 10 to 28 kg: 2,000 mg/day

  • Seniors from 28 to 42 kg: 3,000 mg/day

  • Seniors from 42 to 57 kg: 4,000 mg/day

  • Seniors from 57 to 70 kg: 5,000 mg/day

  • Seniors from 70 to 80 kg: 6,000 mg/day

These omega-3 supplements are crucial for helping to combat arthritis and support cognitive function, both of which can decline with age.
