How to Create a Voting Ballot

This guide outlines the process of creating a new online or paper ballot to collect votes.

-Step #1: Click Other Tools

-Step #2: Click Voting

-Step #3: Click +Add New Ballot

-Step #4: Complete the Ballot Name (Title), Description and Add attachments (optional). Next, complete the questions for the ballot.

Answer type options include: Yes/No, Multiple Choice (choose multiple), Multiple Choice (choose one), Picture Choice, Ranking, Text, Amount and File Upload.

-Step #5: Fill out each question field until all your items are completed. Please note that after entering one question, a new question field will automatically appear below.

The More menu allows you to add a description to a question, add an image, or attach a file.

-Step #6: Click the blue Continue button. To go back and edit your previous step use the Go Back button.

Preview: A sneak peek of the questions generated in the previous step will be shown. Click Continue.

-Step #7: Settings: Voting type. Select online only or online and paper. Note: Paper mail means sending a physical letter to each voter that includes a unique QR code they can scan to vote online.

Select your voting End Date and Time.

Additional settings

Quorum: The minimum number of voters needed for the vote to be valid.


Anonymous Voting: Hides voter identities, only showing total results.


Send a friendly email reminder if a person has not voted after a certain number of days.

-Step #8: Select recipients.

Weighted Voting: If weighted voting is selected, any unit(s) tied to a weighted voting category will use the category vote weight

Choose all units in the top left corner or specific units by selecting the checkbox next to each unit. Filter by Unit tags and/or Owner tags is available.

If online and paper was selected prior there is a menu to mail the ballots to the unit address or mailing address First Class USPS, Certified Mail or Registered Mail. If online only was selected skip the paper menu. Click Continue.

-Step #9: Review Ballot Details: Questions, Settings and Recipients roll up to confirm the information before sending. Send Invites and Start Voting.
