When a home is sold or refinanced, resale documents are one of the most important (and often most frustrating) parts of the process. Boards are pulled into last-minute requests, title companies are waiting on answers, and important financial details can be missed or delayed.

To simplify this process and give associations full visibility, PayHOA has partnered with HomeWiseDocs, the industry leader in HOA and condominium resale documents.

This new Resale Docs module brings an industry-standard resale workflow directly to PayHOA communities—saving time, reducing back-and-forth, and ensuring nothing falls through the cracks when ownership changes.

Why We Built This

For many self-managed associations, resale transactions have traditionally meant emails, spreadsheets, and board members acting as the middleperson between realtors, lenders, and title companies. That approach works...until it doesn’t.

We built Resale Docs to:

  • Remove the burden from volunteer board members

  • Ensure resale documents are accurate, complete, and delivered on time

  • Give associations clear visibility into ownership changes and financial outcomes

By partnering with HomeWiseDocs, trusted by roughly one in three HOAs nationwide, we’re bringing the same professional-grade resale experience used by large management companies to every PayHOA community.

How the Resale Process Works

Once enabled, resale transactions are handled through the HomeWiseDocs platform, with PayHOA tightly integrated behind the scenes.

Here’s what that looks like for your association:

Direct Requests from Title Companies

Title companies and lenders request resale documents directly through HomeWiseDocs. Your board no longer needs to field requests, track deadlines, or manually distribute paperwork.

Document Accuracy and Oversight

A dedicated PayHOA staff member works alongside HomeWiseDocs to ensure your governing documents, resale disclosures, and financial information are accurate and up to date before they’re released.

Built-In Financial Protection

Any outstanding owner balances are identified during the resale process and collected from the seller at closing, helping protect your association’s finances and prevent unpaid balances from carrying over.

Seamless Ownership Transitions

During the transaction, the new buyer’s contact information is collected and automatically synced into your PayHOA account. This gives you immediate visibility into ownership changes without manual follow-up.

Optional Fees Collected at Closing

Associations can choose to collect move-in fees and initial dues at closing, reducing delays and ensuring new owners start on the right foot.

Transparent Pricing — No Cost to Your HOA

There is no cost to your association to use Resale Docs.

Title companies and lenders purchase the required closing documents directly through the HomeWiseDocs platform. These fees are treated as pass-through expenses and appear on the closing statement, which is standard practice across the industry.

Who This Is For

Resale Docs is ideal for:

  • Self-managed HOAs looking for a professional, hands-off resale process

  • Boards that want fewer interruptions and clearer financial outcomes

  • Communities that want visibility into every resale without added work

Most professional management companies already rely on HomeWiseDocs. Now, PayHOA communities can access the same trusted solution—fully integrated into the platform you already use.
