If a late fee appears on your invoice, it was assessed by your manager, not by PayYourRent. PayYourRent applies late fees based on the rules and guidelines your manager has established for their properties.
When Tenant Action Is Required
You should take action if:
A late fee appears on your invoice, and
You have questions about why the fee was applied
When No Action Is Required
No action is required if:
You have already discussed the late fee with your manager
What Late Fees Mean
Late fees are determined and assessed by the manager
PayYourRent applies late fees according to the manager’s established rules
PayYourRent does not independently decide when late fees are applied
What to Do About a Late Fee
Contact your manager directly to discuss the late fee
If the manager agrees to waive the fee, the manager can remove the fee directly or contact PayYourRent to provide authorization if assistance is required
Important Notes
Late fees apply when rent is considered late based on the manager’s rules
Returned or rejected payments may result in late fees, even if the original payment was submitted on time
Managers can remove late fees directly from invoices
PayYourRent cannot waive late fees without direct authorization from the manager
