I Need to Create an Account to Pay Rent
If you're trying to log in to PayYourRent to pay rent or view your balance, follow the section that matches your situation.
Important: Your property manages account setup and activation. Always contact your property first.
Which applies to you?
I Applied Through the PayYourRent Application Link
If you applied through PayYourRent, you already created a username and password.
You do not need an activation link.
What to do:
Select Login on the PayYourRent website.
Use the username and password you created during application.
If needed, select Forgot Password/Username.
If you can log in but do not see invoices or your balance:
Your property must activate your account on their side.
Contact your property and ask them to activate your account so your rent and balance appear.
I Did NOT Apply Through PayYourRent
If you did not apply through PayYourRent, you must receive a property-specific Tenant Activation link to create your account.
Only your property can provide this link.
What to do:
Contact your property office.
Ask them to send you the Tenant Activation link (the link to create your PayYourRent account).
Open the full link exactly as provided.
Follow the steps to create your username and password.
Do not:
Type the web address manually.
Use an old or partial link.
Attempt to register without the property’s activation link.
If you never received the link after approval, ask your property to resend it.
If Your Property Says They Already Sent the Link
Check your email, including spam or junk folders.
Ask them to resend the full Tenant Activation link (not an application or deposit link).
Make sure you open the complete link. Copying only part of it can cause errors.
Common Account Setup Issues
My Unit Is Not Listed
The unit list only shows units your property has made available.
If your unit does not appear, your property needs to update their records (for example, the prior resident may not be fully moved out).
Contact your property and ask them to make your unit available for account creation.
The Site Says My Name or Email Does Not Match
Some properties require your name and email to match exactly what is on file.
What to do:
Enter your name and email exactly as shown on your lease or application.
If it still does not work, ask your property to update your information.
I See a Message Telling Me to Contact My Property for Login Credentials
This usually means:
The link used was incomplete, or
The link was for the wrong property.
Ask your property to resend the correct Tenant Activation link and open it exactly as provided.
I Think I Already Have an Account
If you previously created an account for this property:
Use Login
Use Forgot Password/Username if needed
Do not attempt to register again
I Can Log in but Do Not See My Invoices or Balance
If you applied through PayYourRent, you already have login credentials.
Your property must activate your tenant status before rent and balances appear.
Contact your property and ask them to activate your account.
Note:
Rent and balances may not appear until your move-in date or your property’s billing cycle. If you are past your move-in date and do not see charges, contact your property.
When to Contact Support
Contact your property first for:
Tenant Activation link
Unit not listed
Name or email mismatch
Account activation
Resending activation link
Contact PayYourRent Support only if:
You received the correct activation link but cannot complete sign-up, or
Your property confirms your account is active but you still cannot see balances or make a payment.
Your property controls activation and billing. Support cannot activate tenant accounts.
