Peak Strength is built for athletes of all ages and experience levels, from beginners to elite competitors. It also works if you're past your competitive years or training for general fitness or service readiness. You start by choosing a training path: Train for a sport, Train for a goal, or Train for tactical readiness.
If you're not training for a sport, the Train for a goal path covers focuses like Athletic Fitness, building muscle (Hypertrophy), Strength, Weight Loss, and Endurance. Whatever path you choose, your plan is customized to your weekly training volume and the equipment you have access to.
Beginner
If you're just starting out in strength training, Peak Strength includes introductory plans with simple exercises and low training volume. That's room to build coordination, experience, and, most importantly, confidence, wherever you train. You also get detailed resources, including technique videos, progressions, and written descriptions of how to perform each exercise safely and effectively.
Intermediate
If you've been training for at least 6 months, Peak Strength provides intermediate plans with slightly higher intensity and volume than the beginner plans. There's more movement variety, and Olympic weightlifting movements like cleans and snatches begin to appear.
Advanced
If you've been training for around 2 years and are familiar with the Olympic lifts, Peak Strength provides advanced plans with greater movement variety and difficulty that prioritize sport-specific adaptations. You'll have access to higher training volume, up to 5 days a week, with more volume in the earlier Phases of your plan.
Elite
If you've been training for 5 or more years and are proficient in the Olympic lifts, Peak Strength provides its most extensive, detailed plans for specific sports. Elite training follows the Garage Strength Training System and is built to maximize performance through a non-linear approach.
General fitness, service members, and veterans
You don't have to be a competitive athlete. If you're training for general wellness, the Train for a goal path lets you focus on building muscle, increasing strength, losing weight, endurance, or general athletic fitness, and you can adjust that focus over time. If you're preparing for the military or another service, the Train for tactical readiness path is built for exactly that.
