Childcare vouchers are credited to an organisation's bank account periodically and need to be processed correctly in Tali so that you can reconcile these back to your bank statements.
How to process these through Tali/sQuid;
When you see Childcare Vouchers on your bank statement>Enter into Tali as a Direct Credit/BACS to the bank account credited on the date the funds credited the bank account and repeat with each credit on the bank statement;
2. This allows you to>Reconcile a Bank Statement in Tali
3. Post these same credits to sQuid so the parent can see the transactions in a purse to spend as required on other items offered on sQuid
4. Gather together all the amounts credited to sQuid in the previous, month/year (you will need to decide how often you need to action this) this amount will need to be ‘corrected for’ in the sQuid Settlement Bank account in Tali as the whole amount of credits posted to the pupil purse in sQuid will not import into Tali, however they will import once the parent ‘spends’ these funds - See TOP TIP below;
TOP TIP: If you use an account that has a zero balance to post the childcare vouchers to in Tali and only this account for this purpose, you can then reconcile your bank account and the amount in this account will be the total that you need to correct the sQuid Settlement bank account to bring the account balance back to zero each time.
For every credit to a purse in sQuid a debit must be made in Tali for the amounts of money added to the purse against the Settlement bank account so when the transaction imports it is a correct credit to the pupil account.
In conclusion - The parent then uses the credit in the purse to pay for items - these have no monetary value in Tali as they are imported but will be imported as an epayment and look like a normal transaction from sQuid and as you have contra’s the original transaction (the bank credit) out of Tali, these epayments are then the record of payment.
